Fishing conditions have been nothing short of incredible lately, with anglers experiencing some of the best action of the season. Sailfish numbers are exceptionally strong right now, with double digit hookups common on most trips. The bite has been consistent throughout the day, giving both seasoned anglers and first-timers plenty of opportunities for exciting releases.
Tuna fishing has also been outstanding. Schools have been active and aggressive, providing fast-paced action and great table fare. Many of our guests are catching fish over 100lbs with the bait of choice changing daily between live bait and artificial. Find the dolphin …find the tuna.
Roosterfish action inshore has been equally impressive. We’re seeing solid numbers along the beaches and rocky points, with several trophy-sized fish landed in recent days. These powerful fighters continue to be a highlight for those looking for that bucket list fish. Live sardines and look downs doing the damage this month.
Marlin fishing has been a bit more moderate in terms of numbers, but the quality has more than made up for it. The fish we are encountering are above average in size, and when the bites come, they’re producing some truly unforgettable moments on the water.
Overall, conditions are lining up perfectly for an exceptional fishing experience. Whether you’re chasing billfish offshore or targeting hard-fighting species inshore, now is a fantastic time to be on the water in Costa Rica.
